Our mission is to provide easy to use solutions for high quality first time right additive manufacturing. By the unique combination of state-of-the-art scientific approaches and application-oriented software engineering, the world´s first simulation based process software has evolved. Up to now, additive manufacturing (AM) of metal parts using laser beam melting is not capable of keeping the promise promoted by the media to simply build perfect parts from a computer-aided design (CAD) file. In fact, process physics induce some major problems such as part warpage or shrinkage, unwanted sintering of powder particles at downward facing or thin walled structures, cracking of parts during the process or insufficient part density. This makes additive manufacturing a costly, trial and error based process with a remarkable need for post processing efforts. We make our contribution to overcoming these problems utilizing a four step approach that we call ASAP-Principle, regarding to the four steps of Assessment, Simulation, Adaption and Process. This approach constitutes the backbone of our software solution "Amphyon".
