Aquaprawnics farms indoor, sustainable shrimp using a recirculating recycling aquaculture (RAS) and biofloc technology, to produce a sustainable, local and delicious protein source for American retailers, distributors and consumers. Shrimp is the largest consumed seafood in the world, the size of the salmon and tuna market combined, and more than 90% of American shrimp is imported. The shrimp industry is also one of the largest contributors to ocean destruction – for every 1lb of shrimp caught in the oceans, there is 9lbs of bycatch (the surrounding ecosystem destroyed). BCP led AquaPrawnics’ Series Seed round in 2021.
