Maalexi is a blockchain-enabled ecosystem that helps small food and agri-businesses directly access cross-border trade and finance. Today, these SMBs find it difficult to engage in cross-border trade because of the trade risks and low or no access to finance. The low involvement of these small food and agri-businesses in cross-border trade, high trade risks, and low availability of finance further exacerbates the Global Food Security challenge.
Maalexi solves the problem of small food and agri-business' inability to access cross-border trade by providing trade risk mitigation and trade finance under one secure full-stack platform. Our ability to mitigate trade risks and directly acquire financially critical data, close to point of origin, which is made visible to participants on a real-time basis, and to secure this data through our blockchain applications builds trust both between our trading users and financial institutions. Maalexi mitigates six critical risks in cross-border trade: Counterparty, Legal, Quality and Quantity, Documentary, Delivery, and Payment or Credit. Our platform provides proprietary data analysis processes which are reinforced by AI and ML tools, with built-in blockchain-based traceability and security, seamless risk mitigation, and embedded trade finance options. The high degree of automation assures that there are negligible incremental transactional costs for Financial Institutions helping them scale, by executing the smallest trades securely through our platform with full end-to-end visibility, and no space for fraudulent activity.
We are empowering food and agri-businesses to double their income and become financially inclusive. We aim to help more small food and agri-businesses get into mainstream cross-border trading thereby enhancing the sustainability of food supply chains, and fulfilling our mission to strengthen Global Food Security.
