A new movement in electric vehicle charging solutions, Petalite’s patented SDC Technology is a highly reliable, low future cost infrastructure designed to meet EV charging demands on a global scale.
Petalite provides specialist EV charging solutions to energy companies, CPOs and fleet management companies to help maximise their ROI potential and provide a competitive and reliable charging service for EV drivers.
Simplifying EV charging for the better, Petalite’s patented SDC Technology is inherently a current source device achieved through novel and scalable flyback topology. Current EV charging infrastructure is over reliant on full bridge, a standard voltage source design that is over-complicated and requires specialised expensive components.
Petalite’s single-stage design solves issues commonly faced within todays standard EV charging infrastructure. It supports the grid by not stressing the current through multiple stages, including eliminating the requirement for an AC-DC (PFC) stage and no reliance on full bridge. Other benefits include no power split between chargers, three times MTBF, quick and simple installation, 50% fewer components per PowerCore and zero current switching.
Petalite offers charging as a service, not a product. The usage-based contract focuses on providing low customer costs for the long-term and a high ROI. The common 2-5-year warranties that the industry currently has don't apply because Petalite are with their customers for the long term. This means high repair bills and maintenance costs after an expired warranty will be a worry of the past. In terms of system reliability, Petalite’s PowerCore system is theoretically limitless. This scalable and stackable approach can meet future charge demands as the uptake of EVs grow, easily incorporating more PowerCores into existing architecture as part of the service contracts
